Rainbow Mountain Hike
The Rainbow Mountain, or Cerro Colorado, is a stunning and unique formation of mountains in Cordillera Vilcanota. The highest being Ausangate, which stands at an impressive 6,372m. Located south of Cusco, these impressive peaks surround glaciers, lakes and traditional Peruvian villages. These colourful mountains are guaranteed to be some of the most beautiful natural wonders you will see in Peru. This one-day tour will take you off the beaten track and through several high passes of around 5000m. During this trek breathtaking and idyllic scenery, as well as herds of Alpacas and Llamas will surround you. Rainbow Mountain has become one of the most popular treks in Peru and it is not difficult to see why. Despite this hike being quite difficult due to the altitude, this trip is available to everyone. Those who do not wish to hike can opt to travel by donkey to the peak of the mountains.
