Over the course of the 9km trip, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of breathtaking views and landscapes offered by the mountains of the Andes. Uros, Amantani and Taquile Tour

The city of Puno (3,827m) is located in the heart of the high plateau (altiplano) of Peru, in the immediate vicinity of stunning Lake Titicaca. This lake is of great significance in South America due to its history saturated with myth as well as its status as the highest navigable lake in the world, allowing it to serve as a commercial and migratory route. The legacy of Puno stretches back to before 300 B.C., when humans first settled the region. It was site of development of the “Pukara” and “Tiawanaco” cultures, the latter eventually expanding over nearly all the territory of modern day Peru, exercising influence especially in matters of religion. While the Pukara are remembered for their pyramidal structures and stone monuments, the Tiawanaco were masters of architecture, ceramic, and textiles. This tour will allow you to visit the stunning Lake Titicaca as well as the surrounding Chullpas de Sillustani, burial structures constructed for the nobility, among the remnants of a variety of other cultures which appear later in history. Puno is also known as the home of the greatest folklore festival in Latin America. In February, the famous “Virgen de la Candelaria” takes place, and the city comes alive with vibrancy and colors for a carnival similar that of Brazil. This condensed trip includes the most significant parts of this region as well as offering unique opportunities to visit and spend the night with communities to live as their ancestors did.
